Transfer Coordinators
transferring schools is a complicated process and we are here to help. Check this link if you are unsure of the process of transferring.
If you're planning to attend more than one institution as you earn your degree, relax! The iTransfer Web site will help you plan ahead to transfer successfully between participating IAI schools and get that valuable piece of paper; a diploma! This page highlights items that we feel are particularly useful for students. We encourage all vistors to browse the iTransfer website.
We also provide other information like directory of transfer coordinators and option to directly ask your transfer-related questions to institutions you are transferring to or from.
Also provided for your benefit is transfer-related complaints page. This form is submitted to the Chief Academic Officers of the concerned institutions as well as Illinois Community College Board so that they can address the problems you are facing.
How do I use this web site?
Why isn't the data for the college or university I need one of my choices?
Where is the information for Northern Illinois University (or another college or university)?
I'm transferring from another state. Where's the information I need?
When will the articulation for next year be available?
What's the difference between a transferable course and an articulated course?
Can you tell me exactly what courses I should take?
What does "Articulation" (or other transfer terms) mean?
iTransfer helps you find how transferable courses might be used to satisfy subject matter requirements for specific majors or general education requirements of the institution you want to transfer to.
You can view the courses which fulfill the General Education core package at your original school. All colleges and universities, participating in the IAI agree to accept a “package” of IAI general education courses in lieu of their own comparable lower-division general education requirements. Keep in mind, the IAI General Education transfers as a package. Course-to-course transfer is not guaranteed. For course-to-course transfer guidance, u.select is here to help.
iTransfer website also provides information about majors recommendations by various schools. To Explore Majors, choose a specific major that interests you on iTransfer site and view the recommendations or explore the u.select site to see course-to-course articulations between participating schools.

There are several possibilities. Here are just a few:
Please visit the IAI or u.select participating schools list to find more information about the schools you are looking for.
iTransfer is funded by State of Illinois and is intended to facilitate transfer from a Illinois college to another Illinois campus. There is no information regarding transfer from or to out-of-state colleges or universities in iTransfer.
For out-of-state transfer, contact an admissions advisor at the campus you plan to attend. For international transfer, contact the international student center at the campus you plan to attend. All of the university campuses have special offices for international students.
Articulation in iTransfer is valid for the academic year(s) indicated at the beginning of the agreement. Each university campus updates and publishes its articulation on a schedule based on campus policies and priorities. Since each campus determines its own schedule, we cannot provide information about when new data will be published.
If the articulation information you are looking for is not available in iTransfer, check directly with the university you are interested in attending regarding your courses to be sure they will articulate.
There is an important difference between a transferable course and an articulated course but the terms are sometimes used as if they are interchangeable:
Transferable courses
Articulated Courses
There are many variables in each student’s academic plan. iTransfer is not affiliated with any one college or university and cannot provide academic advising. Your academic counselor or advisor at your community college or an admissions or departmental advisor at the university you plan to attend is best prepared to answer your specific questions.
We have created a Glossary of Illinois Articulation Terms to help you understand the transfer process better
